About
The love for reading is an awesome gift, and the ability to share it with my children is one of the best things in the world. Rainbow and I invite you to join our reading club, where we will explore many different types of children's stories.
There are many interactive reading sites designed to foster a love for reading in young children. We hope to explore these sites (as well as other stories) with you.

What is the age group?
We would love to have a wide range of young readers, however, the most suitable age for our group is 5 years and under.

How often do we meet?
Rainbow Reading Club members will check in  once a week. By 'checking in', I mean we will  post our reflections & discuss the story/book of the week EVERY WEDNESDAY.

When and where do we meet?
Every Wednesday we will post a short (very short post) about the book or story that we read. You will post your reflection on your blog and link back to Chasing Rainbow. Adding photos to the posts will be nice.

What kind of commitment is required?
I know I refer to this as a Reading Club, however, it is very informal. I will always post a book, however, I understand that with young children, schedules can get a bit crazy . You may pick and choose the times you would like to participate, and no need to inform me, just link over if you do.

What kinds of stories will we read?
The Rainbow Reading Club stems from our commitment to reading to our children.  I want to take it a bit further and choose a variety of children's stories, about many topics, and that show many different types of people, places and animals. We will read fiction & non-fiction stories, in the English language (no fairy-tales).  Since young children do not read by themselves, I will assume you have read the book(s), or visited the sites that we are discussing, in order to participate in the discussion.
Note: We will  share one book/story every week.

Where do I get the books?
I will try to choose some stories from online reading programs that are FREE. In addition, each member will be expected to recommend  books, which will be purchased or borrowed from a library by the other members. Please keep cost in mind when recommending books. Your input in this process will be greatly appreciated.

When do we Start?
Let's get started asap and make it fun!

  3. Nishana, it would be great to have you both. It's informal, so just read along when you can.

Valerie, jump in when you want to read one of the books...no pressure. Thanks for stopping by. I will send you an email.
